Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one session without having to swap out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can choose to have the robot clean up the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed - but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power which allows it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean around the objects without a pause.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only issue I have discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective options available. The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture with a low profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available and comes with a lot of additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a useful method to keep your home hygienic for longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list however it's not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
